Hi…I’m Edel. Born in Ireland, now living in North Carolina in the woods near the Virginia border USA. We have a starting homestead with chickens, pigs, rabbits and every darn wildlife rescue around. We are working our way to adapt and ethically establish our homestead in the middle of our woods. We have a small little house that needs a lot of work, a tractor that needs a lot of work and maybe you can learn with me and mine as we live the simple life.
Our Story
We met in S. Korea about 16 years ago – my husband is retired US Air Force and I work in HR. Well, we actually do a lot of things beyond that – he’s into woodworking, fishing, hunting, grilling and camp-fire drinking – a typical country boy. I am a quilter, reader, writer, photographer and explorer of hills and mountains.
We are getting older, we are not in shape, we often don’t know exactly what we are doing, but there is something here – something between us both and this little sliver of land we call Feirm Bheag.
